The Launch Has Begun
If you’re accessing this, then my website has officially launched. Campaign “G. Barrett Author Profile” is underway. And I am less than 2 chapters away from finishing the first draft of my second novel.
You may be asking yourself:
“So, what will I find in this blog?”
Good question. This is where I’ll be documenting my journey to publishing: progress as I complete the final pages and craft a publishing strategy, reflections on the blocks I overcame to get here, and deep dives into the lore, backstory, and design behind my SkyWorld. Tag along as I attempt to grow an audience with little more than a strong belief in my story and the dream that anything is possible if I work hard enough at it.
Consider this your behind-the-scenes access into the making of my upcoming novel. The log will update as the system progresses.
“The book’s not done? why start now?”
This year, 2025, I made a New Year’s resolution: finish your second book by September. And while I made a very similar resolution in 2024, this year is different.
I’ve been ghostwriting for over 10 years. And I made a good living doing it. I co-founded KNG Services, an executive thought leadership content marketing company around it and, for a while, I was content hiding behind other people’s stories. Still, I always regretted never stepping forward to share mine.
Now, I’m ready to try. Overcoming internal obstacles like self-doubt, perfectionism, and fear of failure is hard work. Almost as hard as the work of creating content that tells a good story and gets read. This is why so few people manage it with success.
But just like the main characters in my SkyWorld stories, awakening to self-trust sometimes takes a rebellion against the quiet systems that would otherwise keep us held in place.
“What Can I expect to see next?”
My next entries will explore my intended launch plan and some initial reflection in the lead-up to publishing this website. This is technically the “soft launch” of this blog — early access for website visitors. Stay alert for the full system activation in August when I’ll keep up with regular reports.
In the past month, I finished two chapters of my upcoming novel. At the time I’m leaving this message, I have only 1.5 left to write. By September, I plan to achieve my New Year’s resolution and have the full manuscript complete and edited, with the help of KNG Services. We’ll explore both agent pitching and self-pubbing options and keep readers updated as my KNG team and I make those critical decisions.

“what can you say about your upcoming novel?”
I don’t want to share too much too soon, but I can say it is set in the SkyWorld, a network of platformed megacities set up to save the last of humanity from a dying earth.
